Born in the Limpopo province, I struggled to fit in amongst my peers in the farming community, but studying fine art at the University of Pretoria is where I blossomed into the artist I was always meant to be. My art is an expression of my life experiences such as working with the visually impaired, I had to learn to explain color through texture, thus eyes and texture are the focal points in my art. This destined talent gave me the means to express my thoughts and emotions visually. The people in my art are a direct interpretation of my varied emotions, rendering each of them unique. My purpose is to create something for people to connect with, to make my dreams and memories their own. Birds are very symbolic for me, they represent a memory of something I saw in the past but also of where I am in the present, content but free at the same time.
